This policy explains what Jot ("Jot", "the app") does and does not do with your information. It is written in plain language.
Information we collect
Jot does not collect personal data. There is no account and no sign-in, and the developer does not receive, store, or retain information about you. Some data is used only on your device, and only with your permission:
- Notes and their text and images, stored locally
- App settings and shortcut preferences (UserDefaults)
- Reminders you explicitly create (written to Apple Reminders via EventKit)
What Jot does not do
- No accounts and no sign-in
- No advertising
- No analytics, telemetry, or tracking
- No network connections at all
- Nothing sold or shared for advertising, ever
Network access
None. The source contains no networking code (no URLSession, sockets, or HTTP requests). The app makes no outbound connections.
None. The optional AI features use Apple's on-device Foundation Models (Apple Intelligence) and require no API key. There is no bring-your-own-key mechanism and no remote AI service.
Jot has no advertising, no analytics, and no third-party tracking.
Third-party services
None. Jot makes no network connections and sends your data to no one.
Data retention
Because the developer never receives your data, there is nothing for the developer to retain. Your content and settings remain on your device until you remove them or uninstall the app.
Your choices
You control any permission the app requests in System Settings → Privacy & Security, and you can change or revoke it at any time. Denying a permission only disables the related feature; the rest of the app keeps working.
Children’s privacy
Jot is a general-audience utility. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date above will be updated. Material changes will appear here before they take effect.
